Made to our design by a British industrial lifting gear manufacturer, we believe these are one of the best and most secure set of straps for your pride & joy! Much better than using standard ratchet straps.
On one end you have a long loop, to pass around a frame member fork leg etc and back through itself - providing a secure hold on your bike which cannot come undone. This then has a much more generous than usual length leading to the ratchet mechanism, so you can ensure that the ratchet and all metal parts are held well away from your bike. The other long section of the strap leads to a metal hook that crucially, unlike a standard strap, has a sprung gate mechanism - so it cannot possibly come undone even if the strap slackens, no matter if it’s clipped onto your trailer / carrier or passed around a support and clipped back onto itself,
Standard open hooks can potentially come off as a bike moves about on it’s suspension, especially if you hit a pothole.
The top-quality webbing has a breaking strain of 800kg and is very well stitched as you can see in the pictures, just like our highly regarded awning tiedowns. The straps are bright red so you can see them in your mirrors more easily, for extra reassurance that all is well. The webbing is made from UV stable material that will not degrade and weaken quickly in the sun, which some cheap straps will do.
Sold in pairs of 2 straps, we would always recommend that you use 2 pairs, i.e. 4 straps, to hold any bike down.
